Ordering Data

The actual services offered by the individual CESSDA archive will differ, but all CESSDA archives are committed to the acquisition and preservation of social science datasets and their dissemination to researchers for secondary analysis.

No Additional Charges

Access to study descriptions and online documentation in the CESSDA Catalogue is free and does not require registration.

A growing number of datasets are directly downloadable. CESSDA archives generally require registration for downloading data files. Access restrictions may apply to some users or usages, or data may need to be ordered from the archive holding the data. Details can usually be found in the dataset description.

End users can order data from any CESSDA archive either by contacting their national archive or by directly ordering it from the archive holding the data. CESSDA archives will treat requests from other CESSDA organisations, or users from CESSDA member countries, in the same way as they treat their native users, and no special charges are levied.

Support

If you have any questions about accessing social science data, please contact the CESSDA data archive in your country. If there is no CESSDA data archive in your country, please contact the archive holding the data you're interested in.
