Governance

CESSDA promotes the acquisition, archiving and distribution of electronic data for the European social science and humanities research community. It encourages the exchange of data and technology and fosters the development of new organisations in sympathy with its aims. It associates and cooperates with other international organisations sharing similar objectives.

Constitution

The CESSDA Constitution outlines the objectives of CESSDA, its membership and governance structure, and membership obligations.

General Assembly

The General Assembly (GA) is the body of CESSDA. It meets annually and is composed of one voting representative assigned by each member organisation.

Trans-Border Data Access Agreement

The Trans-Border Data Access Agreement establishes the requirements of CESSDA organisations with regard to the exchange to data between member organisations.

Membership

Membership in CESSDA is available to European data organisations that are actively engaged in archiving data and provide the social science community with computerised numeric information, data, and documentation with support for secondary analysis. CESSDA members include university departments, data archives and research institutions. Organisations interested in joining should contact CESSDA President or Secretariat.
